Mentorship & Training Academy (MTA) Service Agreement
PLEASE READ IN FULL PRIOR TO PURCHASING.
This Service Agreement is legal and binding and will be upheld by The Mastectomy Guide (MG) to the best of our ability.
By enrolling in the Mentorship & Training Academy, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agreed to all terms outlined below.
By checking the “Service Agreement” box on the checkout page and submitting payment, you are entering into a binding contract with MG.
1. DEFINITIONS
- MG refers to The Mastectomy Guide, based in Naramata, British Columbia, Canada.
- MTA Program refers to the Mentorship & Training Academy for Breast, Chest, and Oncology Massage.
- MG Mentor(s) or MTA Providers refers to instructors, coaches, and mentors contracted by MG.
- Participant(s) refers to any customer who has registered, enrolled, or made payment for the MTA Program.
2. PROGRAM OVERVIEW & FULFILLMENT
The MTA Program is a virtual six-month training that includes live presentations, group mentorship calls, one-on-one sessions, case study reviews, private community discussions, and self-paced coursework.
MG’s fulfillment obligation is met once the full six-month program has been delivered, regardless of participant attendance.
If a participant misses a live session, replays and resources (if available) may be viewed at their own pace.
If MG cannot deliver a live session due to unforeseen circumstances such as illness, power outages, or internet disruptions, MG will make every reasonable effort to reschedule the session within the program window.
3. CERTIFICATION ELIGIBILITY
Participants must meet all the following requirements to qualify for certification:
- Attend at least 80% of live sessions and actively participate.
- Complete all program assessments (Foundations, Level 1, Level 2, ICC, and Final).
- Log a minimum of 25 practice hours across at least five practice people, including both initial and follow-up sessions.
- Submit five treatment videos for mentor review and feedback.
- Complete one full case study with a treatment plan and documentation.
- Demonstrate professionalism, trauma-informed care, and ethical communication throughout.
Certificates are issued upon successful completion of the above and full payment of tuition. All requirements must be completed within the cohort timeline unless an approved MTA 2-Month Extension is purchased.
4. PRACTICE BODIES
Participants are responsible for finding their own practice bodies for all required sessions.
MG will provide guidance and best practices for sourcing suitable participants but is not responsible for supplying practice bodies.
Failure to complete the minimum practice requirements may result in ineligibility for certification.
5. PAYMENT TERMS
- Total Tuition: $5,500 (CAD or USD, depending on region), inclusive of a $500 non-refundable Commitment Deposit.
- Commitment Deposit: Non-refundable and due to secure enrollment. This may be waived only for full-pay registrations at MG’s discretion.
- Payment Plans: Six monthly payments are available. All payments must be completed before the program end date to receive certification.
- Late Payments: Late balances are subject to a 10% monthly interest fee.
- Abandoned Payments: If payments are stopped without notice, MG reserves the right to recover the full contracted balance via collections or legal means.
Applicability Clause:
This Agreement applies to all payment options for the Mentorship & Training Academy, including full-pay, installment, promotional, and early-bird offers. All terms regarding tuition, deposit, and payment completion remain the same across all offers.
6. CANCELLATIONS, CREDITS & REFUNDS
There are no cancellations or refunds after registration except within the grace period defined below.
If a participant cannot complete the program due to verified exceptional circumstances, they may request a one-time transfer or credit to a future cohort, subject to MG approval and a $50 administrative fee.
Credits must be used for the next available cohort (up to one year from the original start date) or will be forfeited.
MG may, at its discretion, approve partial credits or alternative arrangements on compassionate grounds but is not required to do so.
No refunds will be issued for illness, travel conflicts, or inability to attend live sessions.
7. GRACE PERIOD
A 14-day grace period is provided after registration.
During this time, if a participant and MG determine the program is not a good fit, the participant may withdraw.
Withdrawal is contingent upon:
- Active engagement in the program during the grace period.
- Evidence of participation and communication with MG mentors.
- A mediated resolution attempt (if applicable).
If approved, MG will issue a 75% refund of tuition fees paid, minus the $500 Commitment Deposit and a $50 administrative fee.
8. TERMINATION
MG reserves the right to terminate enrollment, without refund, for the following reasons:
- Abusive, disrespectful, or unprofessional conduct toward mentors, staff, or peers.
- Sexualized or inappropriate behavior related to breast or chest massage.
- Non-payment of tuition or persistent late payments.
- Repeated failure to meet participation or professionalism standards.
- Violation of MG’s community guidelines or Code of Conduct.
- Acts of God or global events that make program continuation impossible (see Section 9).
9. FORCE MAJEURE
If MG cannot deliver the program due to events beyond reasonable control, including natural disasters, illness, global emergencies, or government restrictions, the program may be rescheduled or moved online.
Participants will receive full credit toward the next available cohort. Credits are valid for up to one year.
