Understanding Medical Side Effects and How to Manage Them
Side effects from chemotherapy and radiation can be very challenging for patients to live with. Massage therapy can provide direct relief for some of them, such as helping restore healthy circulation to fingers and toes.

- Evidence-informed and mindful care techniques
- Understanding common states of being for breast cancer patients
- Precautions and contraindications for safe treatment
- Identifying the 6 visible signs of breast cancer
- Understanding 8 types of breast cancer
- Recognizing metastasis
- Understanding chemotherapy and radiation treatments, including common side effects
- Exploring useful products for supporting clients
- Massage therapy treatments for wellness, quality of life, and managing side effects like chemo-induced peripheral neuropathy and radiated skin

Date & Time: Thursday, July 18, 2024, from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM PST
Format: Virtual (Join from the comfort of your own space)
Requirements: Practice body required for afternoon treatment session
Certificate: Certificate provided upon successful course completion
Prerequisites: Must be a professional massage therapist (registered, licensed) or other type of manual therapist
Practice People:
You will need a practice person to show up at your home (or clinic) depending on where you choose to live stream your course from, so you can give them a practice massage session.
All sessions will be done with camera off to ensure your person's confidentiality, though with your screen handy so you can practice alongside the instructional video.

Hi! I'm Eryn 😃🦋
I've been working in the healing arts for almost 25 years, the last 13 dedicated to massage therapy. I got my "10,000+ hours" of hands-on treatment with breast and chest surgery patients years ago, so I'm now helping other people open their practice to this very unique and beautiful population.
I've now trained about 375 therapists across 3 countries in my professional training programs, and educated many hundreds more through educational events.
I find working with people going through breast cancer an extremely meaningful career path, one that allows us to touch the human spirit at a very vulnerable time of life.
It is also a population that needs and appreciates a light touch, so it's a good body saver - something I desperately needed after facing unrelenting chronic pain and burnout just a few years into my massage therapy career.
Pivoting my practice to support people going through cancer treatments and related surgeries has provided incredible inspiration, purpose and passion in my work, and gotten me out of chronic pain as well.
I'm excited to share this path with you, so you can have a meaningful and sustainable career!
